When we traveled to Ireland, one of our stops was Newgrange, a 5,200 year old passage tomb located in Donore, County Meath. On the enormous stones placed at this site, this spiral can be seen carved into the rock by the long-ago residents of the area. This spiral of life symbol is an ancient symbol of Celtic beliefs. The Celts believed that all life moved in eternal cycles, regenerating at each juncture.
